About GOLFRAW

The facts, not the pitch: who publishes this site, how it makes money, how the ratings and tools get built, and what happens when we get something wrong.

§1

The short version

GOLFRAW is an independent golf publication covering tournament news, player ratings, and swing analysis, alongside a free suite of client-side golf calculators. We're not owned by a tour, a broadcaster, or an equipment brand, and nobody sends us a story and gets to see it before it publishes.

§2

Who writes this

Articles, ratings, and tools on GOLFRAW are produced by GOLFRAW Editorial — the site's editorial desk, credited as the author across the site rather than under invented individual bylines. We'd rather attribute honestly to the desk than manufacture a personality that doesn't exist. If that changes — if a named writer with a real, checkable track record joins the masthead — this page and their bylines will say so plainly, with a real author page to back it up.

Our editorial standards, the four tenets we hold ourselves to, and the full story of why this site exists are laid out in the Manifesto. This page is the factual companion to that one.

§3

How the ratings work

Player ratings are built from a documented, weighted methodology — not gut feeling and not vibes. The full method, including how weights are assigned and how ratings get locked before publication, is public: How Ratings Work.

§4

How we're funded

GOLFRAW is funded by display advertising served through Google AdSense. We don't run sponsored articles disguised as news, and we don't accept payment in exchange for a rating or a favourable mention. Full detail on the ads, the cookies behind them, and what you can do about it is in the Privacy Policy.

The eight tools in the Raw Tools suite are free, run entirely in your browser, and will stay that way — there's no premium tier, no account wall, and no plan to add one.

§5

When we get it wrong

We publish mistakes in public and leave them visible. Every factual error, once confirmed, goes into the Corrections Log — struck through, not deleted, dated, and graded by severity. If you catch one, you get credited for the catch.

Plain English We'd rather look sloppy in public for a day than pretend we never got anything wrong.
§6
